Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
