Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down based on established safety measures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to Brussels during the flight.
This event does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
