Former Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
