Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and has decided to continue with trainer for 2026.

Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

The British player made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year because of a medical condition she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health ahead of launching next year's training.

Those preparations will include her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering again next season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the third set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

She secured twenty-eight matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
