On Monday, the tribunal was told call records and evidence recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most widely reported missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One voicemail, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I'm her? What then? Is that not important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a living here in Poland, I only wish to know," she added.

The tribunal was informed that by means of electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who gathered the data, informed the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with close associates of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I will continue and I plan to establish my point."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a connection online with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had communicated through communication app to Mrs McCann to state the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be taken seriously in the months leading up to the visit to Rothley, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court was told communications between the two accused, in that autumn, discussing endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from utensils at a dining venue.

"We have to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their residence, the defendant dispatched a message which said: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out similar to detectives. I had hoped to achieve this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
